I have always loved quilts, though I convinced myself at an early age that I would never have the time and patience to learn all that stitching, much less make a whole quilt.
After a long career in law, I finally took the plunge in 2000, enrolling in a quilting course that included piecing, applique, and quilting all by hand. I was immediately and completely hooked.
I enjoyed making traditional quilts but began to feel that I was never making my own quilt, even when I devised my own patterns.
“Quilting Arts” magazine introduced me to art quilting, and two workshops with Pamela Allen at Fabrications (2006 and 2007) convinced me that this was what I wanted to do.
I love working with fabric, thread, texture and color, and I make art quilts because in the freedom of discovery, I am making my own quilt anew, in each and every piece.
