Who says we need a kitchen?

I had a great time in Fran Skiles’ class at QSDS in June — all that messing around with gesso and gloss medium and acrylic paints and inks and STUFF!  But “messy” is the operative word, and at home the process can be a little daunting if you don’t have a separate “wet” studio or a bunch of employees to cover the floors, cover the tables, wipe up the spills, and so on.  Not to mention finding where everything got “put away” after the class. Not to mention that all that wet stuff needs to be spread out on flat surfaces to dry.

So when Jack decided to spend the week boating up north, I decided to convert my kitchen to a wet studio (aka: play area) for a couple of days and spend some time working on — well, playing with –  my projects from Fran’s class.    With a little printmaking thrown in for good measure.

If this photo looks too neat, it’s because it was taken this morning before I got started.  Pretty soon I’ll have to start cleaning up (sigh).   Where’s the staff when you need them?
